Beginning Jewelry

The Colorado School
of
Jewelry and Metal Arts

.....is located in beautiful Salida, Colorado: 7,000 ft high in the Colorado Rockies. We are among the top small art towns in America and have gorgeous galleries and a diverse selection of fun restaurants. When not banging on metal or soldering together your newly  learned project, the valley offers a variety of diversions, including fly fishing, hiking, mountain biking and of course shopping.

All of our courses are taught by professional metalsmiths. We offer classes for the beginning metalsmith  as well as the advanced student already very comfortable in the studio and proficient at their chosen medium. We offer classes in beginning jewelry, stone setting, enameling, anticlastic raising, granulation, gold carving, chasing,  and even knife making including damascus steel blades.

"I would like to praise the fact that Jerry Scavezze is offering classes at his studio. If you are the kind of person who would like to learn from seasoned professional jewelers, this looks like the place. Just check out the work of those who will be teaching there. Not only will it be a chance to learn techniques from masters but it looks like a working vacation that you can write off on your taxes

next year."
